About the Producer/Photographer

Chris Ganotis is a 33-year resident of Seacoast, NH, making his home in North Hampton with his wife, Joan. They have two adult sons, Timothy and Matthew.

Chris Ganotis

Born of Greek immigrants (George and Afendra) from the Village of Metochi, Evia, Greece, he grew up in suburban Syracuse, NY, where he was a parishioner of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.

He is an active parishioner of St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Portsmouth, NH and is involved in several other Church projects and activities.

As an active photo-hobbyist, he was intrigued by the iconography initiative at St Nicholas in 2000, so he produced the photo-essay chronicling its development through the completion of the icons. It was done to both archive the photographs for the Church and to heighten awareness of the icons' spirituality among fellow parishioners.

The producer would like to acknowledge and thank Fr. Angelo Pappas for his vision in overseeing the Iconography initiative from its inception through completion and to Fr Robert Archon for his support in promoting the essence this project to our parishioners and guests.

In addition, the producer thanks the many church parishioners who graciously sponsored the completion of the icons.

Finally, the producer would like to thank Theo Nicolakis of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Fr. Pachomius of The Holy Transfiguration Monastery, Mr Stan Kain, St Isaac of Syria Skete Mission and Fr. John Matusiak of The Orthodox Church in America for graciously permitting us to share the written descriptions from their web pages.
